SMOKIN’ MARY

This edition presents Shusaku Takaoka’s collage work “SMOKIN’ MARY” as a giclée print in F10 size.

By inserting a modern act into the composition of a serene religious painting, the work creates a striking contrast in which the sacred and the transgressive hold true at the same time.

Where classic beauty meets a street-style sense of unease, the work gives off visual tension and a presence all its own.

The print uses a high-definition giclée process.

It faithfully reproduces the delicate texture and color gradation of the original, giving it the finish of a true art piece.

The frame was made specially for this work.

The mat is a deep blue suede that gives the whole work depth and a quiet sense of weight.

A heavily ornamented classic frame surrounds the work, sharpening its contrasts and tension further and bringing a strong presence to a room.

This work drew a strong response when it was first shared on social media, and is now offered as a limited edition.
